GENERAL

Q: HOW DO I BOOK A SESSION?
Most sessions can be booked over email or by calling Amanda directly on 0466 992 134 during normal business hours.

Q: HOW DO I PAY FOR MY SESSION?
Your initial retainer (50%) booking fee is due when booking and can be paid online, through our website. You’ll pay the balance of your fees to Amanda the day of your session. Or, you can pay in full right away if you choose to do so as well. Amanda accepts Visa, EFT or cash paid in person.

Q: DO YOU SELL PACKAGES?
Amanda tries to keep everything as easy and affordable as possible for her clients and has found that most people feel restricted to and “locked in” to packages. She has a set rate of $50 per retouched digital image no matter how many you choose. 

Q: DO YOU HAVE GROUP RATES OR LARGER COMPANIES OR OFFICE TEAMS?
Yes! Amanda has a totally portable system for taking headshots on site. Please contact her with the details of what you need.

Q: WHERE IS YOUR STUDIO LOCATED?
Amanda’s studio is located at 7a Arthur St, Woodend, QLD 4305. Free parking on the street or in the driveway.


BEFORE

Q: DO I NEED PROFESSIONAL HAIR AND MAKEUP?
No. While it can be a nice experience, it’s generally not something I recommend because I believe that your clients need to recognise you from your headshot. Not only that, not all makeup artists are created equally and finding one who can give you a truly natural look can be tricky.

I will always recommend showing up as you do to work every day. If you’d like to book a Makeup Artist, please allow enough time for them to finish and for you to comfortably arrive at the Studio.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Cancellations require 7 days prior to booking date for a full refund of your deposit. Cancellation requests less than 7 days prior to scheduled booking will forfeit their deposit. I must have this policy as my studio holds your date and time just for you.

Q: I NEVER KNOW WHAT TO WEAR. CAN YOU HELP ME?
Of course. I offer inspiration boards on pinterest and a video call to help you plan and coordinate your wardrobe options for your photo session.


DURING

Q: WHAT HAPPENS DURING MY SESSION?
Amanda photographs all her sessions tethered to a large monitor, allowing you to view your photographs as they are being taken. She collaborates with you every step of the way from posing, expressions and helps you design the best looks to guarantee your satisfaction. You will know what you are getting before you leave the studio, and you will love it.

Q: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY, “LOOK”?
A complete visual transformation. An outfit and change in wardrobe and styling. For example, for a business headshot session you might wear formal business attire for one look and a less formal shirt for a more relaxed casual look.

For an actor session, you might want to change your clothing and your hairstyle to achieve a variety of castable looks. Often times a man will do a scruffy look, followed by a clean shaven look to demonstrate character flexibility, while a woman with longer hair will often do a look with their hair down and then their hair up to show their physical versatility.

Q: WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU SAY, “LOCATION”?
I have a number of different options of where to hold your session. “In-studio” means in my studio. “Outdoors” means just outside my studio area. “Location” signifies a separate place such as a business location, park, beach, home, office, city block, landmark where you would like to be photographed at. Depending on your specific package and shoot, I might be shooting you in one or even many locations with in one session.


AFTER

Q: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER MY SESSION?
Amanda will upload your selected headshots, optimised for social media, to a secure google drive folder. You will then have two weeks to selects your favourite photographs for retouching before your negatives are securely archived. Once you have selected your headshots, the files will be retouched and your final headshots will be sent to you.

Q: DO I GET ALL THE PHOTOS FROM MY SESSION?
Yes…and no.

Yes! You will receive all of the approved images (with basic editing only) optimised for social media.

Part of the process is to discuss the pictures and edit the session with you as we go. We will review each shot one by one to determine it’s viability in representing your personal brand. By shooting and editing in this manner we can adjust the direction of the photographs as we go to account for anything we feel we may have missed along the way. You’ll leave knowing exactly what we’ve captured and will walk away with only the images that have met your approval.
The approved shots will be made available on a google drive link. The images are usually posted before you leave the studio or shortly thereafter and you will be able to share the folder with anyone who might help you choose the shots you decide to use. Most of my clients end up with between 20 and 50 photographs to choose from. Should you feel the need to return in order to cover anything you feel we may have missed then you can take advantage of my returning client fee. 

…and No! What you don’t get are high resolution, retouched photographs for your printing and billboards. These are ordered separately and start at $50 each.

As a professional photographer I never give clients all the RAW shots from a session. The final look of the images is a huge part of my brand. By releasing raw files there is always the chance that they will get posted as is, or edited in a manner that I would not. That kind of inconsistency can be damaging to my brand and can cost me future business.

My images, with basic editing only, are amazing. Some clients find that this is exactly what they are looking for. Most of my clients though, are looking for a polished, professional image that represents the professionalism of their brand. You really only need the BEST shots. And you need them to look their best, for sure!

Q: DO YOU HAVE A SATISFACTION POLICY?
Y​es! All headshot work is satisfaction guaranteed. Because all clients see their headshots before leaving the studio, it is rare that a client is unhappy with their headshot. But if you are unhappy with your headshots in any way, please talk to Amanda about a possible reshoot or re­working of the retouched file. 

Q: AM I ALLOWED TO MAKE MY OWN PRINTS?
Yes, included in your final headshot download file will be a letter of permission from Amanda so that you may make your own prints at a vendor of your choice.
